The techniques are administered over the clothes using mostly thumb pressure. Palms, elbows or feet may also be used to apply pressure. Exercising and correcting methods can be used to create a dynamic experience. Shiatsu focuses on correcting any imbalances or disharmonies that can manifest on a physical, emotional and/or energetic level. According to Chinese Medicine, physical manifestations of pain are rooted in a deeper disharmony in the body. Both aspects are addressed in order to have long term results.
